Cribbage Team League.
Overview:
Cribbage historically an individual competition lends itself nicely to team league play. The benefits of Team play aside from the obvious sharing of similar interests and developing of group esteem, provides a nurturing "family" environment allowing new players to learn from experienced "masters", average players the opportunity to become better and all, the sense of contribution.
From the sports world comes a team play format, which can be both challenging and exciting. The league consists of Divisions of teams; the Teams consist of eight players. The season consists of round-robin matches within the teams division. Team matches consist of six; first to two game matches. The six matches feature three four handed and three individual matches. At the conclusion of each season the top four teams in each division will play a double elimination tournament. Each Top divisional seed receives an automatic bye to the semi-finals.
Requirement: Every player must participate in a minimum of 50% of his or her team�s matches.
Teams:
Team captains are responsible for assuring compliance with team participation. Captains are also responsible for arranging and their playing the assigned opponent. (Either E-mail or ICQ will do). The goal is to play from three to five teams per week for four weeks.
Rules: Rules committee, chaired by Slow121 will be the final arbiter in any dispute of the rules or behavior. (see relivant Rules of Cribbage )
Match time: All matches must be completed within two hours of agreed start time (unless otherwise permitted by rules committee).
Entertainment: While some believe that "Frivolity and Myrth" has no place is serious competition, we don�t! We find that the occassional face or symbolic message like � � � , or short song lyrics ( Do you believe in magic?�..) particularly enjoyable. Feel free too be nice. Pass along some cheer. Brighten someone else�s day!
Reporting: Travelmama chairs the "Standing" committee and each team score is to be reported to her upon completion of the Match. Results will be posted weekly.
